John Challis ~ Nordic Walking Instructor
John loves the outdoors. He’s an off-road mountain biker, keen paddle boarder and rides motor-bikes. Nordic Walking is now his main recreation and is essential to his wellbeing!
An Orthopaedic Surgeon for many years John learnt to Nordic Walk in 2005 himself having undergone major hip surgery! This led to him wanting to help those who are aiming to increase their mobility, sense of wellbeing and general fitness. He firmly believes that it’s the quality of life that matters and that reducing stress and maintaining fitness is integral to this.
Nordic walking has many benefits and can easily be incorporated into a person’s lifestyle. There is no age barrier. It can vary from a recreational and social activity to a more challenging walk enabling participants to increase their sporting performance.
As an instructor John always aims to motivate individuals to achieve their personal goals, and in doing so, gain the full benefits whilst having fun.
He works closely with the NWUK team of instructors and walk leaders who between them offer a range of walks to suit all levels of an individual’s fitness. Living in Swanage he is ideally placed to lead walks throughout the Isle of Purbeck. Regular longer walks to explore other parts of Dorset are also on offer.[su_divider top=”no”]
