Led by Macmillan Cancer Support, Sport England and Active Dorset, Living Well Active is a new information service for people (18+) living with cancer in Dorset who want to improve their potential for health, fitness and wellbeing.
There is now an abundance of evidence to support the benefits of physical activity during and after cancer treatment. Keeping active can preserve or improve physical function and psychological well-being, reducing the negative impact of some cancer-related side-effects. Regular physical activity also has a potential role in reducing risk of cancer recurrence and increasing survival. This makes physical activity a good choice for anyone living with cancer wanting to improve their living well potential.
With this in mind, Living Well Active brings together healthcare professionals, physical activity and sport providers, educators, support groups and organisations who are passionate about helping people with cancer live the best life they can, and share what they have to offer with you.
Nordic Walking UK has teamed up with Living Well Active to offer FREE Nordic walking tasters and reduced price Learn to Nordic Walk course right across Dorset with all of our participating delivery partner Instructors.
Come along to one of the Living Well Active Tasters below or call us on 0333 123 450 and we will put you in touch with your nearest participating Instructor for a session near you.
Once you have completed the Learn to Nordic Walk course you will gain the FREEDOM passport and be able to join in suitable classes anywhere in Dorset and beyond!
